SONNETS IN THE GARDEN
William Shakespeare’s Sonnets are among the most glorious poetry ever written: they speak of love and passion, of longing and lust, of power and possession, of the unrelenting passage of time and of the complexities that come with conducting relationships across the boundaries of age, status, class, gender and social norms. Sebastian Michael, author of The Sonneteer and several other plays, and podcaster with SONNETCAST – William Shakespeare’s Sonnets Recited, Revealed, Relived returns to the Onion Garden to recite some of his and your favourite sonnets for you, and to talk about the incredible stories, constellations and meanings behind them. So, join us for a third series of Sonnets in the Garden and enjoy the art of language in a gorgeous, natural setting. Admission is free.
